Testing FAQs
Question: What is the difference between a “molecular” test and an “antigen” test?
Answer: Both of these tests can tell if you have COVID-19.
- A molecular test, also called a PCR test, is done with a nasal or throat swab or saliva sample. At The Good Clinic, we do a nasal swab. It is the most accurate test for COVID-19. It typically takes you between 48 and 72 hours to get the results of the test, although it may take up to a week depending on the number of tests the lab is processing. The downside to PCR tests is that results are not as quick as rapid Antigen tests.
- Antigen, or “rapid” test results are available within 15 minutes, and we also do a nasal swab for this test. While you can get the results quickly, this test is not as accurate as the PCR test.
Question: Do you offer rapid or same-day PCR tests?
Answer: We don’t offer rapid molecular or PCR tests, but we do offer antigen tests with immediate results. See the description above for the difference between these tests.
Question: When can I get tested and get my results?
Answer: All Good Clinic locations are open Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, so all testing takes place during those times. We will also inform you of your results during those hours.
Question: What should I bring to my appointment?
Answer: When you come to your appointment, please bring photo identification with you and your insurance ID card.
Question: How much does a COVID-19 test cost if I don’t have insurance or my insurance is not in-network?
Answer: Non-insured direct pay for COVID-19 testing is $160, which includes an office visit.
